Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has been fined £800,000 after pleading guilty to two charges related to the death of an infant at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. On 15 September 2019, Baby Wynter Andrews was born in a poor condition following a Category A Caesarean section. Efforts were made to resuscitate and incubate the baby, but sadly Wynter died in her parents’ arms just 23 minutes after being born. Read On

Several hospitals across the country have recently suspended the use of gas and air, due to prolonged exposure posing potential health and safety concerns for midwives and hospital staff. Gas and air (known as Entonox) is a medical gas comprised of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide. The NHS maternity survey revealed that 76% of women used gas and air during labour, making this one of the most popular pain relief options. Read On

The Legal Aid Agency's responsibilities include making sure legal aid services from solicitors, barristers and the not-for-profit sector are available to the general public.
